BUYER
ROLE SUMMARY
Buyer will report to the Purchasing Manager of Nidec Conversion. He/She will lead the procurement strategy execution for the assigned commodities, to deliver the company targets in term of cost reduction, cashflow, OTD and quality. He she/will contribute to projects execution, working cross functionally with multiple departments (R&D, Engineering, Production, PM and Quality Assurance) in a team environment. He/She will develop a deep knowledge of the supply base to optimize the interactions with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
DAILY TASKS AND MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
Purchasing materials according to required technical specifications, budget, delivery schedule and terms, negotiating with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, rebate, terms and conditions.
Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures.
Managing the supplier panel for the assigned commodities.
Overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues.
Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.
OTD and Quality Claims managing, leading the related negotiations.
Identifying and qualifying new suppliers together with quality and engineering specialists.
· Generate and maintain complete and accurate purchasing records to facilitate future business decisions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering or economics.
· At least 3 years of experience as material buyer in structured manufacturing companies.
· Education/Work experience abroad is a plus.
TECHNICAL and LENGUAGE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent Italian and English knowledge. A third language is a plus.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
· Experience with ERP (SAP).
· knowledge of business economics and supply chain processes.
· Technical background with supply base knowledge of industrial components.
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
· Good project management skills.
