Automation Engineer
SUMMARY OF ROLE
Supports the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of PLC and SCADA / operator interface software for industrial automation solutions, primarily in steel plant automation and port quay electrification (cold ironing).
PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
. Based on project specifications (system functional specification and mechanical functional specifications), identifies the software modules composing the automation functions and defines the functional requirements of individual software modules.
· Develops software modules in compliance with detailed technical specifications.
· Defines validation criteria and procedures to verify that required functions are correctly implemented.
· Performs testing and verification of software modules and functions.
· Prepares and issues user and maintenance documentation.
· Performs follow-up and coordination activities with external suppliers, as applicable.
· Executes software and automation hardware commissioning activities up to system acceptance.

The Level 1 Automation Engineer interfaces with the following internal organizational units to support the execution of automation engineering activities:

The Level 1 Automation Engineer maintains task-oriented external relationships, to support project delivery and system implementation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and LANGUAGES
Education and Qualifications
Technical high school diploma in Information Technology or Industrial Automation, or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Industrial Automation.
Experience
Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years in automation systems development.
Languages
· Italian: C1 / C2 – Full professional proficiency
